The Ministry of Health is responsible for maintaining an accessible, high quality, affordable system for health service delivery that meets the needs of the citizens of the Province of BC.

Its mandate is to support and enhance a responsive, comprehensive, regionalized health care system that promotes and provides for the physical, mental and community health of all British Columbians.


The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues.


The services are provided through its branches:

Financial Operations, Financial Analysis and Decision Support, Regional Grants and Decision Support, Audit and Investigations, Business Financial Transformation, Capital Services, Business Services and Logistics Strategy.

These branches provide financial advice and assist programs to meet their strategic goals and operational plans, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and central agency directives.


The Director of Business Transformation leads, directs and supports the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of major long-term business transformation projects in the Finance and Corporate Services Division, overseeing sub-projects and/or multiple delivery components.

Projects are taken from original concept through final completion and support a broader strategic management and transformation framework.


Job Requirements:


  • Degree in a related field (project management, business administration, public administration) and three (3) years of *recent related experience; OR
  • Diploma in a related field (project management, business administration, public administration) and five (5) years of *recent related experience.
  • Recent related experience must be within the last eight (8) years and include:
  • Experience in a senior management role leading new business development projects or business transformation projects in support of a long-term vision.
  • Experience establishing collaborative relationships with a wide variety of interest holders and leading organizational change associated with implementation.
  • Experience leading and coaching project managers and multidisciplinary project teams in the development and implementation of a diverse range of projects.
  • Experience in strategic business planning; contract management; financial management; and contract negotiations.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP or equivalent) or Change Management designation.
  • Experience in the health or finance sector.
