What's the Opportunity?:

Joining the team at Oscar Peterson School of Music as the Camp Coordinator means ensuring that camp activities meet expectations and uphold the department's values, providing young participants with a fulfilling music learning experience.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Camp Preparation
    • Participate in training before camp starts.
    • Purchase necessary supplies within budget.
    • Create participant schedules.
  • Communications
    • Coordinate resources for parents and participants.
    • Keep parents informed about camp operations.
    • Organize communication among staff and volunteers.
  • Staff and Volunteers
    • Train and schedule counselors and volunteers.
    • Lead volunteer meetings and provide feedback.
    • Supervise counselors and volunteers.
  • Camp Operations
    • Ensure safe arrival and departure procedures.
    • Plan activities for Early Care and Extended Care.
    • Coordinate movements around the camp.
    • Organize special camp events.
    • Handle operational issues smoothly.
  • Other
    • Perform additional duties as needed.
Job Requirements:
What We're Seeking:
  • Eligibility criteria for Canada Summer Jobs program apply.
  • Experience in student programming and childcare.
  • Background in administrative work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in music and youth education.
Hourly Rate:

$22.00 per hour

Additional Information:
  • 11-week contract from June to August.
  • Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required.
