Please note that this is NOT a remote/online position. We are looking for someone to be present in the school.


Working hours depends on enrolment:
8:30am-11:30am and/or 12pm-3pm.


DESCRIPTION
The focus for this role involves facilitating, teaching, motivating, and inspiring our students to reach higher personal potential.

You will get the opportunity to facilitate and teach 1-to-1 a variety of programs such as computers, Microsoft Office Word/Excel; academic upgrading (math, English, ESL); and career-specific diploma/certificate programs such as Customer Service, and Office Administration just to name a few.


Other duties:

  • Complete progress reports.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to relate well to different groups of students of different ages and ability levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Learning and expanding your knowledge and skills set.

How does being a Supply Teacher (OT) work?_

Summit has a roster of supply teachers that our team refers to when they need coverage or assistance. Simply let us know your availability and which of our school(s) you can work at.

Supply teachers that are available Monday to Friday between our class hours of 8:30 am - 3:00 pm are more likely to get calls/working hours.

How many hours will I be working?_

This varies from 0 to 30 hours per week. It may be weeks before you get called to supply.

You may be called to fill in for a day or multiple days, or you may get a call for an LTO (long term occasional) assignment.


Coverage is required in the following cases:
(1) when a teacher is absent due to illness (2) when a teacher is going on vacation (3) when a teacher has a meeting or networking event to attend (4) when there is an increase in enrollment and an additional teacher is needed.

What are the hours?_

Summit's business hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You may be asked to cover between 3 to 6 hours.

How much notice will I be given?_

Supply teachers are given days or weeks notice.

Part-time hours: 0-15 per week

From $19.00 per hour
