Job Summary


The Manager Organizational Development and Change Management is responsible for supporting CN's efforts in employee engagement, performance management, change management communications and various other talent initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

Needs Analysis

  • Engage with HRBPs and Business Leaders for intake meetings to understand the specific business/people issue to address
  • Contribute to research and analysis to find solutions and remove barriers, including OD initiatives, which are integrated and aligned with the corporate strategic and business goals
  • Assess internal tools, programs and systems, and identify solutions that will have the greatest impact
  • Propose and implement use of diagnostic tools to assess current state, stakeholder alignment, future state design and development, as well as to asses the impacts of various interventions
  • Collaborate in identifying opportunities for organizational performance improvement initiatives, for example, through the implementation of a new behavioural competency framework and leveraging 360degree feedback process
Design of Tools and Solutions

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the design and development of key systemwide projects and programs related tom but not limited to, Engagement Surveys, Performance Management, Culture, Core Competencies, Process Mapping and Career Pathing.
  • Support the design and roll out of change management strategies, processes and interventions that support CN's ambition to be a high performing organisation, with a focus on continuous improvement
Implementation and Guidance

  • Establish and implement change management efforts in the roll out of new business initiatives and programs to increase impact and ensure sustainability
  • Implement action plans to build engagement, increase adoption, mitigate resistance and ensure successful launch and implementation of talent initiatives and program
  • Collaborate in the design and facilitation of inhouse education/information events (e.g. workshops) with key stakeholders.
  • Support in the delivery of key systemwide projects and programs that are aligned with bestpractices
  • Provide guidance to Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) in the implementation of new initiatives, including the necessary tools and skills to succeed
Systems and Data

  • Leverage data and analyses to assess impact of programs and interventions to continuously improve design and processes
  • Leverage relevant, forwardlooking talent management data, analytics, approaches and tools, to challenge the status quo and introduce more efficient and effective methods to increase employee engagement and improve performance.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide education on the use of dashboards and Performance Management related systems
  • Administer and deploy technologies and solutions that support Talent Management practices
Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, and be resilient. The role requires mínimal travel (less than 10%) to CN's offices located throughout North America.


Requirements:

Experience

Organizational Development and Change Management

  • Between 7 to 10 years of experience in developing, consulting, guiding and facilitating organizational change in a large organization (unionized environment
  • Experience guiding and coaching HR professionals and ability to interact with impact while engaging with business leaders
Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Change Management, Human Resources, or Business with a minor in HR
  • Master's Degree in a related field
  • Certified change management expert with current designation


  • PROSCI Certification

  • Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset
