Field Service (FS) Operations Manager

Reports directly to Head ofGrid Technologies Services. Effectivecommunication and collaboration with Project Managers (PMs), BusinessDevelopment Managers (BDMs), and Quality Manager is required. You will beexpected to take decisive and/or corrective action for the well-being of thecrew, environment, project, equipment, customer and/or the organization

May require some travel andnon-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varyingenvironmental conditions


HowYou'll Make an Impact

  • Working closely with Project Managers to assist with the planning of project setup, resource requirements, site management, coordination of equipment and vendors, scheduling of heavy equipment, tankers, test equipment, etc.
  • Provide leadership and guide less experienced technicians in safe and correct assembly or maintenance of power electrical apparatus such as power transformers, breakers etc.
  • Drive safety culture for Field Service employees consistent with existing Siemens Energy safe working procedures/practices
  • Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial conditions of contract
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Resolve customer issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Monitor goals in support of departmental and corporate strategies, services requests, reporting analysis, staffing, overall performance.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing maintenance schedules for vehicles, processing equipment, dry air systems, generators, and test equipment
  • Management and upkeep of all tooling and accurate inventory of each Siemens Energy asset

What you Bring

  • High School diploma, GED or technical vocational or apprenticeship training, combined with prior field service or equivalent related experience
  • Prior supervisory skills required to lead the performance of assigned field personnel, (crew members and subcontractors) in addition to promoting a healthy, safe and environment friendly workplace.
  • Highly experienced in technical assembly, maintenance and repair of power transformers, AIS or GIS breakers in utility/energy electrical industry
  • Extensive experience in repair/maintainance of Power and Transmission substation equipment with varying voltage levels
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in a professional manner on all aspects of electrical service activities, verbal or written, whilst understanding the importance of protecting the company's propriety information and intellectual property rights.
  • Possess comprehensive skills to interpret the scope of work, assembly, general arrangement drawings, electrical prints and oneline diagrams, as well as test data and factory instruction manuals
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • EH&S/OSHA certified
