We are currently hiring 2 full-time Live in Treatment Team Leads.
Locations are in Scarborough (Pharmacy and Sheppard area) and Etobicoke (Kipling and Finch).


The Live in treatment programs are transitional in nature (service users can be in the program for one to two years) provide a broad range of mental health and autism services for individuals with mild-severe developmental disabilities who are youth or adults, and their families.

The treatment homes are co-educational in nature and is designed to be responsive to individuals with high needs who are unable to access already existing community-based resources due to their clinical profiles (i.e., high need for support and supervision).

The programs assist service users in achieving their individualized goals by providing a safe, structured and predictable environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Take a leadership role within the program and during the Manager's absence by providing leadership, clinical consultation, and support to frontline staff within the program;
  • Offer primary case support and direct support to service users as needed to cover gaps;
  • Ensure that the administrative duties and house scheduling tasks are complete and are reflective of the needs of the program (i.e., petty cash and float, confirming electtowork and scheduling out sourced staffing, etc);
  • Support new staff in the learning of expectations related to the completion of administrative duties, including providing orientation to electtowork staff;
  • Ensure supportive, safe, and predictable environment through the establishment of routines, limits and daily living skills;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessments, goals, and treatment plans for assigned service users;
  • Liaise with families, in coordination with the Service Team;
  • Complete administrative tasks as required by the program for licensing/compliance and also for other assigned situations (i.e. medication, facility audit, fire drills, menus, shift plan, movement log, etc);
  • Keep the Manager and/or Oncall apprised of daily issues within the program including behavioural concerns, and staffing, medical, community/system, house related issues, etc.;
  • Working at all times in the best interests of service users, families and program.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Counsellor, Social Services Worker, or Behaviour Technician diploma, or equivalent education and experience;
  • 3 or more years' experience in a live in treatment or supported living setting;
  • Proven
    leadership and
    scheduling experience within a team environment;

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:


  • Specific knowledge and understanding of Anti Black and Indigenous Racism and how to be an ally. Lived experience a strong asset;
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of dual diagnosis and ASD and the impact on service users and their families;
  • Experience with development and implementation of treatment plans, preferably with individuals on the autism spectrum or dually diagnosed;
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with a range of professional and nonprofessional individuals;
  • Functions as an independent selfstarter with limited "onsite" supervision;
  • Demonstrates strong skills in time management, organization, and administrative work
  • Clear exposure to working through an antiracist and antioppressive lens.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process;
  • G level license and verified insurance are an asset
  • Medical clearance in accordance with Lumenus Community Services policy on preemployment medicals;
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including lifting, bending and prolonged standing as well ability to be trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) techniques;
  • Comfortable working in different settings.
