Description

The General Labourer Maintenance Tech will be a highly self-motivated, customer-centric, safety conscience team player with good attendance, whom will perform battery changing, preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures, grounds, and assists Skilled Maintenance Personnel.

This technician will have the opportunity train as an apprentice to the maintenance team and could potentially transition into maintenance if the proper skillsets are learned/achieved.

Monday
Friday Day Shift

What you will do:

Operates battery changing station, conducting the removal and replacement of lift batteries while adhering to all OSHA & Wayfair safety policies and procedures
Disposes of Hazardous Materials in accordance with established OSHA procedures
Conducts daily/weekly Preventative Maintenance and completes daily log sheet
Performs preoperation checklist and verifies all safety devices are functional at all times
Utilizes and maintains the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Charge, clean, and inspect batteries for production equipment
Checks and maintains water levels in batteries
Monitors battery charger status, battery cable insulation and connectors, reporting necessary repairs to maintenance
Maintains a clean and safe work area
Operates floor sweeper / scrubber to maintain facility floor
Paints, plasters, and performs general building maintenance functions including plumbing and carpentry to maintain facility
Assist Maintenance Technicians with installation, repair and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities
Performs all jobrelated duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor
Completes work assignments, work orders, records, logs and other written or computerbased documents
Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity

What you will need:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Good attendance record
Ability to work all days and shifts, overtime, and holidays. (We are a 24/7 operation)
Diligent safety practices
Basic reading, writing, computer, and oral language skills
General mechanical maintenance abilities and aptitude (carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general building maintenance)
Good Communication skills and the ability to work well with a diverse group of associates
Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (Order Picker, Pallet Runners, Standup, Reach, Aerial Lift etc.)
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and multi meters
Previous Battery charger/changer experience preferred but not required

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift up to 75lbs regularly
Use aerial lift equipment to a height in excess of 30ft
Regular bending, lifting, stretching, crawling, & reaching below the waist and above the head
Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
Ability to use hand and power tools such as saws, drills, impacts, etc.
Continual standing and/or walking with great frequency (facility over a quarter mile)
Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
Ability to work in construction /distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated and/or not airconditioned
Must be able to work in hot and cold environments to include inclement weather
Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, etc.)
