Position Description:


The Entry to School program (ETS) is a new service offering that supports families with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who are between the ages of 3 to 5 entering school for the first time.

It is a six-month, group-based, skill-building program focused on helping children develop school-readiness skills in a classroom setting. Each classroom will be operated by a multi-disciplinary team of Classroom Facilitators who will report into a Program Supervisor.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Support intake process and advises on appropriate placement of children in classrooms
  • Supports the development of service plans for individual children and where required, conducts behavioural assessments and guides treatment
  • Approves service plans for individual children
  • Creates processes to ensure consistency across classrooms
  • Leads the program planning process
  • Provide daytoday supervision of a multidisciplinary team and delivery of the Entry to School Program to include:
  • Coaching, training, and evaluation of staff on all areas of the program curriculum, with specialization in the area of applied behaviour analysis
  • Scheduling
  • Oversees day to day operations of program
  • Conducts performance appraisals
  • Identify staffing needs and/or gaps
  • Participates in the recruitment, onboarding, staff orientation and communicating performance expectations for new staff
  • Ensures staff adhere to agencies policies, procedures, and practices
  • Ensures the health, safety and wellness of staff
  • Facilitate resolutions involving clients, families and staff using a solutionfocused approach
  • Communicates with parents/caregivers and provides updates on student progress as required
  • Carries out relevant administrative functions in support of program delivery
  • Monitors service targets, flags Program Director/Manager of any potential issues
  • Manages program supply budgets
  • Leads staff meetings
  • Provides support in the classrooms as needed.
  • Attends external partnership meetings as required.

Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Psychology or related field
  • 5 years of experience in direct clinical intervention with children and families
  • BCBA certification, or pursuing BCBA certification is an asset
  • Experience supervising employees an asset
  • A thorough understanding of principles and conceptual issues of ABA
  • Knowledge of human resource management and effective labour relations is essential
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as a leader
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset
