**Seasonal Parks Labourers
**Seasonal May 18 to September 3, 2023
Starting Wage - $17.54/hour
Flexible 40 hour per week availability required
**(Days, Evenings and Weekends)
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Maintenance and upkeep of public parks, washroom facilities, trails, playgrounds, and
sportsfields. May include activities such as landscaping and planting, turf mowing, weed
control, sportsfield maintenance, playground repair and upkeep, installations, litter
picking, tree care, and plant care
Dealing with questions from the public in a friendly and professional manner. The ability
to refer questions to supervisors when necessary
Operate and maintain tools and small equipment and farm implements such as mowers,
weed eaters, trailers, and tillers
Maintain Town vehicles, respect road laws, and the public
Recording vehicle and equipment inspections, near miss and hazard assessments, and
maintaining other safety training documentation
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Class 5 Driver's License with Abstract as deemed acceptable by the Town
RCMP based Criminal Record Check is required to be considered
Current Standard First Aid/CPR preferred
Previous experiences working in the Parks and Recreation field is an asset
Previous horticulture experience (i.e., landscape maintenance) or construction work and
use of power tools will also be considered assets.

care, or to assist in set up or tear down for various events and bookings
Physical ability and strength, including lifting up to 50 lbs. to perform manual labour

the public, and adhere to safe work practices
