Our 60+ Endocrinologists, many of whom are nationally renowned for their areas of expertise, are supported by an interdisciplinary team of highly qualified Medical Office Administrators, Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Optometrists, Opticians, Optical Assistants, Chiropodists and Clinical Research Professionals.


Currently, our growing team is looking for a
Medical Assistant who can work for us on a
permanent full-time basis supporting our
LMC Montréal VSL clinic (6363 Trans Canada Route #238, Saint-Laurent).



Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and the Physician's schedule
  • Ensuring proper documentation (i.e. patient information and forms are accurate in patient chart) and when necessary liaising with medical laboratories and/or Physician offices for appropriate patient documentation
  • Preparing patient for physician evaluation, including but not limited to, measuring vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI and record information on patient's chart appropriately
  • Collecting patient medical and social history
  • Reviewing medication list for accuracy and completion
  • Promotion of comprehensive, coordinated care for the patient. (Relating to the entire LMC care team of endocrinologists along with diabetes educators, pharmacists, chiropodists, optometrists, researchers and health coaches).
  • Preparing examination rooms with necessary medical supplies
  • Downloading various glucose meters, continuous glucose monitors and/or insulin pumps
  • Downloading of investigations via electronic software DSQ, OLIS, Netcare etc.

Requirements:

Bilingual communication skills (English/French; oral/written):

  • Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset
  • Previous Medical Assistant (MA) or Nurse experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in measuring vital signs and experience with medications review is considered an asset
  • Relevant experience working in a medical office environment is considered an asset
  • Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (proficiency in Accuro is considered an asset)

Assistante Médicale
à temps plein ainsi pour nos bureaux situées à
LMC Montréal VSL (6363 Trans Canada Route #238, Saint-Laurent).



Les responsabilités

  • Préparer le patient pour l'évaluation du médecin, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, mesurer les signes vitaux tels que la fréquence cardiaque, la température corporelle, la pression artérielle, la taille, le poids et l'IMC et consigner les informations dans le système DME.
  • Prendre les antécédents médicaux et sociaux du patient
  • Revoir la liste des médicaments et présenter au médecin
  • Identifier les patients pour une éventuelle participation à une étude de recherche
  • Gestion du flux des patients a travers la clinique et dans les salles d'examen pour assurer l'utilisation efficace de l'établissement et des horaires des professionnelles.
  • Assurer que la documentation est précise (ex. information du patient et formulaires sont précis dans le dossier du paient) et au besoin, communiquer avec les laboratoires médicaux et/ou bureaux de médecins pour obtenir la documentation requise.
