  • Performance of activities and treatments for children
  • Work collaboratively with the associated therapy assistants.
  • Continuously monitors through observation and consultation of student progress and the effect of intervention and need for continuation, modification, or termination. Communicates this information to the Speech and Language Therapist
  • Documents therapy intervention services, and maintains administrative records in accordance with Society policy and government standards.
  • Ability to select, adapt, and sequence relevant and purposeful activities that support intervention goals.
  • Ability to provide occupationally based interventions to achieve student participation in school environment.
  • Use professional literature to make informed practice decisions.
  • Demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic features of therapy theories, models of practice, principles, and evidencebased practice.
  • Engage in learning through play and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • General knowledge of human development throughout the life span.
  • Ability to analyze tasks relative to areas of occupation, performance skills, activity demands, context(s), and student factors to implement the intervention plan.

Education and Experience

  • Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Diploma, Communication Science and Disorders or related training.
  • Experience working with paediatrics, and/or individuals requiring assistive or augmentative supports.

Part-time, Permanent, Casual


Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Weekends as needed
