    Social Development Supervisor


    Help create Kelowna as a City of the Future and join our team as the Social Development Supervisor. The Social Development Supervisor provides leadership and assists the manager in facilitating collective action among diverse leaders to enhance social wellness and increase responsiveness to various complex social issues facing Kelowna (i.e. homelessness, housing, substance addiction and other social issues). The Supervisor works to strengthen partnerships and connections with community stakeholders within a systems approach and sets and tracks key performance indicators for programs and investments. This is a key position overseeing both federal and provincial funding allocations as well as the municipal Social Development grant program.

    Qualifications

  • A University Degree plus a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience relevant to community development, the non-profit sector and/or the complex social issues impacting community well-being.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following (or related areas): community social well-being, community impact frameworks, accessibility, age friendliness, community safety, housing & homelessness, neighborhood development, mental health, substance use addictions, and/or food security
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with and understanding of other levels of government and the ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with various internal and external partners.
