YOUR ROLE


The _Warehouse Manager_ is responsible for the success of the warehousing operation including overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the team; You will direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the warehouse operations, which includes supervision of the warehouse staff, receiving, storage, distribution, systems administration, inventory control, sanitation and maintenance.

This position is responsible to oversee warehousing activities in compliance with space availability, order fulfillments and business plans. The _Warehouse Manager_ is responsible for the overall strategic design and direction of the warehousing operation, including securing new business, customer service and client relationships;

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement changes to operational systems to improve the flow in customer service, order management and shipping and receiving of customer products on time and undamaged;
  • Establish and manage key performance indicators and other related measurements, providing analysis, reporting and recommendations on a timely basis;
  • Reviews inventory reports; sales order reports, and other available material and devises plans for current and future fluctuations in warehousing operation;
  • Supervise the preparation of facility reports and prepare recommendations as to procedural improvements and projects;
  • Act as a liaison between _General Manager_ and _Facility Operations Team_ and keeps each informed on matters of policy procedure and production performance/problems;
  • Manage ongoing relationships and interactions with customers to assure a timely and accurate delivery of products and adhere to contractual agreements;
  • Accountable for the warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA, local and provincial legislations;
  • In charge of negotiating brokerage rates with the carriers and with the clients, selecting the carrier, and scheduling all brokers for the warehouse
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity;
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned;
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts;
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships;
  • Identify and resolve client concerns;
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, followup, and adherence to goals;
  • Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales;
  • Followup for collection of payment;
  • Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
  • Manages a team of 9 employees, encouraging optimum productivity & motivation;
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross functionally.
  • Respond to customer and staff complaints;
  • Ability to think and respond quickly, and adjust schedules and operating plans in response to unplanned events;
  • Identify the factors causing contingencies with logistics operations (e.g. problems with flow or storage of supplies in the supply chain) using the appropriate problemsolving and investigation methods.

Additional Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS

  • A College/Bachelor's Degree in business management with a focus on operations management, materials management, or equivalent;
  • Bilingual (French, English), required;
  • A designation in logistics management CITT or P. Log. Designation is preferred;
  • 25 years of combined supervisory and managerial experience is required;
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry and transportation industry, preferred;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), required;
  • Focus on the customer meets customer needs in a timely manner; continually looks for ways to increase customer satisfaction;
  • Team building works effectively as a member of a team; keeps team members up to date on what is happening;
