Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for measurement leadership and support for continuous quality improvement initiatives and programs, focusing on new designs and production launches.

Working with Quality staff, Program Managers as well as Design and Manufacturing Engineering staff from our Technology Center located at Oakville ON, the successful applicant's key responsibilities include:


  • Undertaking CMM operation and programming, with Mitutoyo equipment / MCOSMOS software
  • Use of other measurement equipment such as optical comparator, height gauge, profilometer, indicators, micrometer, caliper.
  • Working with Engineering and subcontracted gauge Designers to support custom gauges.
  • Conducting Metrology, calibration, and gauge capability studies
  • Participating in some segments of ISO/TS16949, and ISO/IEC 17025 audits.
  • Undertaking other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A postsecondary degree/diploma/certification in quality or engineering discipline
  • Professional designation in quality assurance, CQT or CQE
  • CAD education and experience
  • Responsible experience in auto parts manufacturing and quality systems management, including experience in APQP and corequality assurance tools, thorough knowledge of Continual Quality Improvement principles, standards & practices acquired through responsible manufacturing and quality audit experience.
  • Superior analytical, organizational and communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with PC & internet software, including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
