Role:


As
Sport Coordinator you will assist with the co-creation, development, resourcing, delivery, evaluation, performance and evolution of the Skating & Camp experiences.

You will create and connect with our customers, community and employees in ways that are impactful in driving and advancing our cause.

You will participate in re-imagining, overseeing and evolving the functions of the skating & camps team and bring Vivo experiences to life.

You'll mentor the team to deliver strong results and impact.


Reports to:
Skating - General Manager; Camps - Schools & Camps Manager


Responsibilities:


  • Assist the manager with aspects of skating, climbing, and camp offerings including business cases, curriculum and play based experiences, school activity days and participation in the delivery of special events.
  • Take the lead on responding to customer inquiries to resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with our skating, climbing & camp audiences to determine their needs, what they value and translate learnings to the team.
  • Participate in reimagining the experience development process through a service design thinking lens and then implement and build capacity in the skating, climbing and camp teams to do the same.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of appropriate presentations on products and services to members.
  • Foster an active, social, inclusive and engaging learning environment for children and families.
  • Perform camp, skating & skating administration duties including:
  • Managing waitlists and enrolments.
  • Assist instructors with the completion of necessary forms and eforms on the first day including: talent release form, field trip forms and safety waiver forms
  • Assist the instructors with the sign in/sign out processes
  • Complete weekly inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Complete any accident and injury report forms
  • Facilitate communications with parents, staff, participants, and direct supervisor
  • Respond to parent/guardian concerns in a professional manner
  • Create daily, weekly, and monthly staff and activity schedules
  • Participate in championing Vivo at special events i.e. everybody plays, open house, community events, etc.
Leadership

  • Assist the Schools & Camps Manager and General Manager with recruiting, mentoring, developing performance, targets and the daytoday performance management of the instructors utilizing Human Resources best practices to ensure a highperforming team.
  • Lead and provide clear direction and expectations to the skating & camp instructors on roles and responsibilities and empower and hold the team accountable for achieving established workplans and targets through the regular followup, feedback and coaching.
  • Be accountable for the development, progress and evaluation of workplans and performance targets for the skating, climbing & camp teams.
  • Participate in the assessment, revisions, and revamping operational policies, procedures and training manuals to ensure they are aligned and support business and team practices.
  • Assist in regular scheduling and payroll for the skating, climbing and camp instructors.
  • Observe programs daily to ensure that Vivo values are being upheld throughout the delivery of all offerings by engaging in skating, climbing & camps daily by remaining accessible and visible to parents, children, and instructors.
  • Lead weekly / monthly debriefs with the teams and report back to your direct supervisor.
  • Champion of the Vivo Instructor certification instructing and mentor instructors.
Financial

  • Oversee all aspects of skating, climbing & camp offerings in Avocado including managing waitlists, participant payments and customers' accounts, planning, programming, and inputs into the software.
  • Assist with the development of the skating and climbing budget and understand and monitor key components that influence targets.
  • Work alongside the Manager to promote skating, climbing and camps and provide accurate communications to current & future program participants & their families.
