Who we are and what we do:

Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation of global regulatory strategies for the premanufacture/preimport notification of industrial, commercial and consumer chemicals.
Gather, understand, process, critically evaluate and maintain all data and documentation related to said implementation.
Research regulatory information: contact various jurisdictions; directly contact officials at regulatory agencies; review client material to be analyzed; compare regulations with client information and make recommendations based on the comparison results; prepare draft report/summaries of data to be reviewed by senior regulatory staff member.
Review information from searches and/or provided by project managers (includes identifying and reviewing company reports/published articles and speaking with other scientists/project managers); required to use own initiative to make sure that selected materials are complete.
Organize pertinent information according to project strategy and format as per regulatory reporting/submission requirements.
Assist senior scientific staff with special requests.
Support preparation and submission of global regulatory reports and dossier submissions.
Review with project manager and determine registration requirements based on the classification of a substance, use patterns, and/or volumes imported/manufactured,
Work with project manager to gather required information from all relevant sources including interaction with client;

- request clarification/additional material from client;

Work efficiently to meet client/government deadlines, keeping project managers and other members of the team updated on project progress.
Contribute to regulatory horizon scanning: monitor new information (from websites, journals, TOCs, listservs, etc.) related to global substance management; write monthly report.

Qualifications

EXTERNAL EDUCATION

Sc Degree in Science:
toxicology, ecotoxicology, chemistry, biology (0-1 years experience)

Aptitude and interest in regulatory scientific issues

Core Competencies

Good customer service skills
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written format
Strong organization and time management skills
Effective business writing and composition skills with a good command of the English language
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Ability to work independently in a fastpaced, multitasking environment
Ability to pay attention to detail
Microsoft Office software expertise

Ability to critically evaluate scientific papers
Ability to work on a number of different aspects of one project and evaluate and integrate work from a number of sources into the project
Ability to retain clear picture of project goals, plus understanding how projects are structured
