As the plant HSE/ HR Specialist, you will have the responsibility of creating, implementing, and maintaining facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HSE management systems and relevant regulations.

Your primary objective will be to reduce injuries to team members and minimize company exposure. You will provide hands-on technical support and expertise on HSE matters to operations.

  • In addition, you will interpret applicable regulations and prepare technical reports of findings. You will ensure ongoing compliance with all permits, regulations, and environmental requirements for your facility. You will also align with programs that promote team member engagement and behaviorbased safety processes to cultivate a Zero & Beyond culture.
  • As part of your role, you will lead and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications at your plant. You will conduct and assist in internal and external HSE audits and meet with regulators during facility inspections and audits as required.
  • You will create lead HSE committees onsite and communicate company procedures to ensure that HSErelated issues are addressed through coaching, training, and followup.
  • You will be responsible for reporting all HSE indicators and company data requests accurately and on time.
  • You will provide proactive practical support in areas such as the implementation of health, safety, and environmental procedures, behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, and interpretation of applicable regulations.
  • Share best HSE and HR practices.
  • You will oversee an incident reporting process that ensures effective investigations, reports, corrective actions, and the sharing of best practices within your business unit and the company. Managing workers' compensation claims (CNESST) and short
- and long-term disability cases.

  • As a support resource, you will participate in the development and review of specific HSE training needs analysis, operational reviews, and assessments of new equipment. Also, responsible maintaining personnel training and development records.
  • You will collaborate with institutional management to participate in key HSE team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other essential meetings where plant HSE representation is requested.
  • Directing workforce planning, recruitment, selection, hiring and retention of plant employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in the development of plant goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Support the development and implementation of human resources policies and practices.
  • Coordinate the updating of the employee manual.
  • Coordinate the establishment's assistance and recognition programs and support the administration and implementation of the company's HR and compensation policies.
  • Process external reclassification and departure interviews.
  • Maintain the information systems of human resources.
  • Participate in meetings of the local management committee.
  • Finally, you will participate in other key HSE, and HR initiatives assigned by the HSE and HR Director.
