Description

At Net Zero Atlantic we lead applied research and contribute to projects that enable the transition of Atlantic Canada's energy system to a carbon-neutral future through collaboration with academia, governments, private sector, Indigenous Peoples and NGOs.

We facilitate collaborative research, pilot and demonstration projects that resolve key questions related to the energy transition.

Our fields of interest include energy system modelling, offshore wind, hydrogen, geothermal energy, carbon sequestration and behavioural based mitigation solutions.

Further, we are enabling the creation of solutions that don't exist yet but are needed to have a net zero future.

We are growing and are looking to add to our team. Currently we are seeking a fulltime Community Solar Program Coordinator.

Our Opportunity:

In this role, you will have a direct impact on Atlantic Canada's energy system transition.

Your job will be to assist with the implementation of the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (NRR) Community Solar Program.

The program is designed and led by NRR and we, alongside their collaborators, are key participants to support, launch and administer the program.

Community solar gardens are being created in numerous jurisdictions in North America and internationally.

Under the Community Solar Program, eligible project owner(s) can develop off-site utility scale solar gardens for themselves and their communities to provide renewable energy to the grid and participate in and benefit from generation of renewable energy.

The program seeks to expand access to solar energy to those who are unable to access it, such as low to medium income households, populations in marginalized communities, those living in multi-unit residential buildings and homes and businesses unable to install solar PV panels.
