Summary of Duties
Tasks include:
- Working with Patient Care managers, Program Directors and other senior leaders to highlight key insights and drivers of performance for areas across the hospital.
- Perform aggregation and presentation of clinical administrative data to inform strategic planning and facilitate evidencebased decision making at the local and system level; report and interpret trending information associated with organizational targets for both internal
- Proactively demonstrate the value of advanced analytics by automating manual processes and generating insightful dashboards that leverage predictive modeling.
- Lead the Decision Support team to integrate analytical output in the design and implementation of Business Intelligence solutions that will be disseminated throughout the organization
- Develop processes to analyze model performance and accuracy
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to streamline processes and enhance reporting (bots, machine learning, simulation, etc.)
- Prepare detailed documentation as required
- Perform corporate and program utilization and predictive analyses including trending, and prediction of clinical volumes and weighted cases
Qualifications/Skills
- Master's degree or MBA in Statistics, Epidemiology, Applied Math, Health Information Management or other Health or quantitative related field (PhD an asset).
- 3 years of experience in a professional setting; Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
- Specialization in machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical computer languages (e.g. Python, SQL, R), experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) and simulation software (Simul8)
- Experience with relational and multidimensional data models
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Knowledge of key administrative data including DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, CCRS and NRS and associated case mix methodologies.
- Experience in the use of statistical or financial information in a health care environment
- Advanced problemsolving, and project management skills
- Able to work with mínimal supervision, manage own time, and prioritize projects
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of hospital staff and physicians
