Intake/Case Worker (dual role)


Job Location:
Orillia Job Compensation: 28.00 per hour based on 40 hrs per week

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, one hour paid lunch. Evening and or occasional weekend shifts may be required.


Job Role-Intake Worker
The position will be responsible for completing intakes for the Indigenous Housing First program. The position will work closely with the housing first team and provide support and assistance to staff when required.

The position will present intakes to the prioritization table bi-weekly and notify external referrals for cases assigned to the program.


Job Role-Case Worker Residential Program

The objective of transitional housing is to provide people with the structure and support they need to address critical issues necessary to maintain permanent housing and achieve self‐ sufficiency.

Transitional housing is an intermediate step between emergency crisis service and long‐term permanent housing.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- community College Diploma or a University Degree in social services or other closely related field or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities as determined by the employer;
- minimum of 2 years recent full-time work experience within a social services/health care or related environment, including providing case management to individuals/families experiencing chronic/episodic homelessness;
- experience and knowledge of the needs of Indigenous individuals and families including

Indigenous and non-Indigenous community services and supports;
- demonstrated knowledge of Housing First principles, guidelines and related housing concepts, acts and regulations;
- an understanding of case management; including assessment, service planning, skills reaching, monitoring and evaluation;
- ability to engage sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication with administrative and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks;
- strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work independently, as well as, part of a team;
- motivated and organized; effective problem solving and planning skills
- ability to serve as a role model and contribute to a positive work environment
- valid class G drivers license and use of personal insured vehicle is required to transport clients

Job Type:

Salary:
$16.50-$28.00 per hour
