    Position Summary


Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed permanent full time Executive Assistant to support the Indigenous Health department.


  • The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the Vice President, Indigenous Health and other members of the Indigenous Health portfolio as needed. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating, organizing and providing administrative support activities related to financial and organizational planning, labor relations, human resources and management within established policies and procedures.
  • Starting salary will be approximately from $56,606 to $70,757 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary diploma in Business or Office Administration plus five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience including three (3) years supporting senior executives and in contract/project coordination, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong knowledge and practical skills in project coordination/management, research and evaluation.
  • Ability to type 50 w.pm.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to liaise in a professional manner with all levels of staff and the public.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to ensure administrative needs of the VP Indigenous Health are being met.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fastpaced, complex, and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to anticipate and initiate action, as required.
  • Demonstrated problemsolving/conceptual skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to research, compile, and coordinate information on a variety of topics.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, tact, and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential or sensitive nature.
  • Knowledge of trends, developments, and priorities in Indigenous health issues and/or knowledge of Indigenous people.
  • Ability to monitor and manage internal and external relationships.
