Envirogreen Technologies Ltd. (ETL) is an established waste management company, leading the way in the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.

Our permitted hazardous waste treatment facility located outside of Princeton, BC, utilizes thermal desorption technology to treat a wide range of industrial waste and contaminated soil.


The Opportunity
ETL is looking for a motivated Electrician Apprentice with proven experience and motivation to join our team.


The Electrician Apprentice works under the direction of the Designated Supervisor and works with other employees within the company to ensure safe work practices and policies, compliances and regulations are adhered.


The Electrician Apprentice is responsible for Install, maintain, and repair electrical components in an industrial setting under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician.


The Electrician Apprentice will work closely with facility staff to create a positive and safe working environment, be a resource to management and facility staff for health and safety information and promote health and safety programs in the workplace.


Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a production/industrial settings
  • Minimum of 6 months to one years' experience as an Electrician Apprentice
  • Must be a registered apprentice with Skilled Trades BC (formerly known as ITA)
  • Willingness to take part in company's apprentice program by attending apprentice training and maintaining hours.
  • Will be required to work under the supervision of a skilled Journeyperson
  • Must be able to perform safe work practices
  • Provide strong work ethic, be a positive team player,
  • Good understanding of office computer software and systems
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
  • This safetysensitive position must be filled immediately. Preemployment drug and alcohol testing is required for this safetysensitive position as immediate site access is required

Core Job Duties

Maintain, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical controls

  • Maintain, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair equipment or components directly or indirectly exposed to electrical power such as motors, generators, pumps and lighting systems
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment
  • Maintain electrical workshop and storage facilities in a clean, organized and safe manner
  • Maintain an accurate equipment service, maintenance, and repair record
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial, and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications
  • Responsible for tool inventory
  • Liaise with suppliers and outside contractors for major repairs or upgrades
  • Maintain facility analyzers and report deficiencies
  • Maintain all related site electrical devices from 300HP motors to 120V receptacles
  • Maintain facility transformer room in a clean and safe condition
  • Assist in design and upgrades of new or replacement equipment
  • Maintain a recorded inventory of consumable electrical parts for facility operation
  • Perform disconnects when required for lock out or facility repair
  • Participate in facility upgrade planning
  • General labour duties as required
  • Assist procurement staff with identifying electrical components needed to perform electrical work
  • All other duties as requested by supervisor or manager

Salary:
$28.00-$34.00 per
