At Advanced Material Handling we design and manufacture customized heavy industrial material handling equipment for pulp/paper, sawmill, biomass, OSB, cement/asphalt, sugar, OEM and mining industries all across America.
Abbotsford facility.
_ Day shift hours - 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday._
- Operate Sawing Equipment: Set up and operate saws, such as circular saws, band saws, or table saws, following safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials for cutting by measuring, marking, and positioning them accurately on the saw table or work area.
- Adjustment and Calibration: Adjust saws for depth, angle, and speed, and calibrate equipment to achieve precise cuts.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of cuts to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on sawing equipment to keep it in good working condition, such as blade changes and lubrication.
- Material Handling: Load and unload materials onto/from saws safely, using cranes, forklifts, or other equipment as needed.
- Material Sorting: Sort and stack cut materials based on size, type, and quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials cut, quantities produced, and equipment maintenance.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with coworkers, including machinists, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a sawyer or similar role in a manufacturing or construction setting.
- Knowledge of different types of sawing equipment and their operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Attention to detail and precision.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Education & Experience:
- 1 years industrial helper/sawyer experience
