Summary
Essential Functions
- Provide endtoend Request for Quote Process (RFQ) support with the expectation of meeting sales quotas and producing results. Conduct detailed reviews of AAI RFQ's, provide direction to IT Functional teams to clarify requirements, design and document solution response. Ongoing collaboration with Business Development/Solutions/Engineering/Operations teams on the value proposition for the customer and to qualify and document requirements
- Support Business Development activity in pursuit of new or expansion business by creating and providing presentations to potential clients regarding IT value proposition, capabilities and chosen solutions in support of the sales process
- Based on the solution designed, coordinate IT pricing inputs, prepare the IT cost model, develop the IT value proposition, and facilitate IT Cost Model review and approval
- Identify solution gaps in Ryder's portfolio as it pertains to AAI and work with IT functional groups to strategically address gaps. Conduct market and competitive research to identify broad business trends and assumptions that may affect business and/or IT strategy and service delivery options
- Provide pipeline forecasting inputs to IT Functional teams in support of staffing demand
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide leadership with regard to proactive sales and consultation with the business including but not limited to transactional services and strategic initiatives
- May fill in for director as the primary IT contact at the customer location as needed
Skills and Abilities
- Well rounded knowledge of automotive industry to facilitate requirements discussion between Ryder customer, Engineering, Operations, and IT development teams; including facilitating discussions around value proposition
- Strong documentation skills as it relates to business requirements, scope definition, cost, and value proposition
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of industry leaders, competitors, terms, policies, and industryspecific financial practices
- Ability to manage multiple proposal projects concurrently
- Automotive Industry expert required
- Transportation Management technologies expert required
- Aerospace Industry intermediate preferred
- Industrial Industry intermediate preferred
- Distribution Management technologies intermediate preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in information technology, marketing, finance, business, supply chain management, or engineering
- Ten (10) years or more in sales or business development required
- Five (5) years or more in information technology required
- Five (5) years or more in supply chain solutions, logistics, or operations required
- Five (5) years or more in automotive industry required
- Five (5) years or more in marketing preferred
- Five (5) years or more in transportation and distribution management preferred
- Automotive Industry expert required
- Transportation Management technologies expert required
- Aerospace Industry intermediate preferred
- Industrial Industry intermediate preferred
- Distribution Management technologies intermediate preferred
