Academy of Modern Art (AOMA) is a reputable Vancouver-based art education institution dedicated to transitioning art and design students to their post-secondary school of choice, and strongly supporting students' personal development.

Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Oversee AOMA's educational programs include portfolio preparation, AOMA certificate (teens art program), kids and adult arts programs
  • Manage curriculum development and staff implementation of the curriculum including ensuring instructor coordination of student learning outcomes
  • Responsible for creating and designing course schedules
  • Responsible for the assessment of all AOMA educational programs
  • Grow AOMA teen arts and portfolio program
  • Grow AOMA kids' program, laying the art foundation for the teens program, artistically supporting kids as they grown up
  • Develop workshops, art tours, short courses, community relationships, etc.
  • Responsible for school open houses, extracurricular programs and academic presentations
  • Responsible for instructor training and evaluations
  • Responsible for student evaluations
  • Consult and work with parents and students on academics
  • Support and work closely with the school President, Director of Education and instructors
  • Support school marketing and recruitment initiatives

Qualifications and Skills:


  • 5 years professional work experience in the arts or design education industry
  • Master degree in art & design from an elite university
  • Excellent design or illustration skills
  • Strong passion for art education
  • Have patience with students and
  • Strong ability to problemsolve
  • Very good sense of marketing with strong consultation skills
  • Must be detailedoriented, responsible and can work well with the AOMA team
  • Present personal portfolio of own artwork during interview
  • Flexibility with work hours needed at times

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Master's Degree (required)

Experience:

- art/design: 5 years (preferred)

- teaching kids and youth: 3 years (required)


Language:


  • Mandarin an asset (preferred)

Work Location:
Hybrid remote in Vancouver, BC
