Faculty/Department VP Research Unit SPHERU Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position SummaryUnder the supervision of Dr. Nuelle Novik, the successful applicant will conduct participant interviews, and will complete data analysis on transcribed interviews. The successful applicant will attend team meetings to discuss data analysis, and review findings. The successful applicant will assist with final report writing, and will assist with developing, planning, and delivering other Knowledge Translation activities (e.g. plain language summary of findings; creating audiovisual material based on the project findings). Finally, the successful applicant will assist with the planning and facilitation of a virtual World Café event.
Position Requirements
Higher level undergraduate student or graduate student with a background in the social sciences; preferably in social work, psychology, health, and or policy; or related discipline.
- Completion of the TCPS2 Core Training (Ethics)
- Strong search strategy skills; proficiency with searching in various academic databases (e.g., PubMed) as well as grey literature sources;
- Experience of conducting qualitative research (qualitative data collection and data analysis) is a significant asset;
- Experience with qualitative data analysis software (NVivo) is a significant asset;
- Experience with citation and bibliographic software (e.g., EndNote) and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Excellent writing skills; ability to write for different audiences (academics, non-academics) is a strong asset;
- Experience of working with Canva (for infographics, reports, presentation slides) is a strong asset;
- Strong ability to work independently and as a team;
- Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines is essential;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is essential
