- Conduct regular check-ins with employees holding work permits to verify their ability to sustain work status and provide necessary follow-up
- Perform initial evaluations on the immigration requirements of employees with work permits, and suggest actions to maintain legal work capacity
- Collaborate with external immigration advisors to prepare and submit applications and supporting documentation to government agencies for work authorization, sponsorship, and compliance in a timely and organized manner
- Keep managers and HR Business Partners informed on the progress of ongoing immigration cases
- Oversee the BC PNP sponsorship program by evaluating requests against company guidelines and eligibility, recommending cases for sponsorship, and assisting employees undergoing PNP sponsorship
- Address immigration queries, review concerns, and offer guidance on Fortinet's immigration policy and general immigration details and resources
- Maintain organization, quality control, data entry, and overall upkeep of immigration compliance records
- Review and process immigration invoices, collaborating with Finance for timely completion
- Stay updated on immigration regulations, PNP nomination procedures, immigration public policies, compliance requisites, and relay any updates to the team
- Aid the Mobility and Immigration Specialist in crafting strategies and improving immigration processes
- Support or lead various immigration initiatives, projects, and internal audits as necessary
- Education or training in Immigration, RCIC preferred
- More than 2 years of practical experience supporting high-volume immigration, either internally in a fast-paced company, or at an immigration consulting or law firm
- Background or education in Human Resources is beneficial but not mandatory
- Robust analytical skills balancing business requirements with immigration best practices
- Thorough comprehension of immigration law and compliance, BC Provincial Nomination Program, Canadian Permanent Residency process – Express Entry and CEC; Familiarity with the OINP is advantageous
- Proficiency in Canadian work permits such as PNP WP, PGWP, GTS, ICT, FTA's, and C20
- Professional experience demonstrating efficiency, analytical prowess, organization, and reliability, playing a crucial role in your previous team
- A passion for Canadian immigration and aspiration to advance in this field
- Independent yet collaborative professional adept at managing competing priorities, possessing strong communication skills, and working effectively with various stakeholder groups
- Proficient in MS Office tools, particularly Excel
- Proven track record of delivering quality customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
