- Operations and maintenance activities on various types of DUC water control structures.
- Conduct field inspections on DUC projects.
- Prepare and sign contracts and supervise equipment contractors.
- Landowner negotiations and agreement signing for engineered wetland projects.
- Manage DUC owned habitat properties through conducting field inspections, coordinating land management activities such as grazing, fencing and haying.
- Steward relationships and work closely with private landowners, various conservation partners, and government organizations.
- A post-secondary degree or technologist diploma in a related discipline such as Resource Management, Water Resources or Civil Engineering; equivalent practical field experience will also be considered.
- Strong planning, reporting, administrative and project management skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with GPS, MS Office and satellite imagery interpretation. Experience in ArcMap would be considered an asset.
- Experience with operating ATVs.
- Ability to work long hours outdoors and perform strenuous and physical tasks.
- Experience supervising contractors would be an asset.
- Experience managing contracts and contractors, supervising construction, and strong administrative skills.
- An understanding of rural agricultural, industry and conservation practices would be considered an asset.
- Awareness of provincial Occupational Health and Safety practices.
- A valid class 5 driver's license.

Salary: $53,500 - $66,900, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will commensurate with each individual's education and/or experience as it relates to the position.

What You Will Do
As a member of the Saskatchewan Operations Team, you will primarily be responsible for the inspection, management, landowner relations and operation of DUC's engineered wetland projects in East-Central Saskatchewan. You will also be responsible for managing DUC habitat properties.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
You possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You are self-motivated, enjoy a complex, changing environment and can manage numerous projects within tight deadlines.
Your minimum 1-3 years' experience and knowledge of habitat management, water management and landowner negotiations make you the ideal candidate for the position.
