    INSTRUCTOR – HALF COURSE STAC 1P99: The Culture of Noise

    Course description

    STAC 1P99 - The Culture of Noise

    Role of noise in music, social space and art. Exploration of discursive issues concerning the value of sound studies. (This course is also offered as IASC 1P99, MUSI 1P99, and VISA 1P99.)

    Lectures/seminar, 3 hours per week

    Compensation

    Effective September 1, - $7,.48 per half course ( hours nominally)
    Effective September 1, - $14,.95 per full course ( hours nominally)
    Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

    Duties

    Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

    Qualifications

    1. Relevant MA or PhD

    2. Previous experience with teaching noise, sound, music (or musicology), visual culture and art-related courses

    3. Previous teaching experience at the university level

    4. Evidence of teaching competence through previous course evaluations and 3 letters of reference

    5. Demonstrated competence in online teaching
