Berwick on the Lake retirement community is looking for a
casual housekeeper who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. Schedule:

Casual - As Needed.


Pay:


Starting wage is $17.22 per hour, plus evening and night shift differentials as applicable, _
plus _temporary Covid-19 Provincial wage subsidy top-up of $3.

75 per hour

Position Summary:


The Housekeeper/ Laundry Worker reports directly to the Operations Support Manager and is responsible for providing initial, ongoing and continuous resident suite and building housekeeping services, including laundry and linen service.


Skills/Competencies:


  • Demonstrates a commitment to providing the highest quality of customer service and hospitality
  • Self driven individual with the ability to work well with little supervision
  • Works with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Confidentiality, patience, and an ability to treat staff and residents with respect and dignity
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing service in a flexible resident focused environment
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Polite, courteous and communicates with professionalism
  • Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 25 lbs, squat, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties of the position

Qualifications/Experience:


  • WHMIS Certification
  • Trained in proper lifting techniques
  • Trained with handling emergency situations such as power outages, fire and earthquake
  • Experience working with seniors an asset
  • Must have knowledge, skills and training on how to manage and respond to potential harassment in the work place (verbal, physical and sexual)

Note:
*A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test and proof of Covid-19 Vaccinations also required.
