We have an exciting opportunity for a
Design Technology Coordinator to join our office in
Halifax, NS.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the Design Technology Coordinator will work closely with a talented team of engineers and designers and be responsible for implementing and supporting Autodesk software (and related design technology products), with the prime objective of strategically planning, introducing and maintaining CAD efficiencies and innovations throughout the firm.


Your Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop, document, implement and enforce CAD software standards;
  • Manage CAD hardware and software systems across the enterprise;
  • Receive CAD ticket submissions to troubleshoot and solve, or to delegate to the appropriate person and ensure each ticket is completed in a timely manner;
  • Prepare deployment packages for new CAD software and version upgrades of existing software. Testing and configuration shall be completed prior to deployment to ensure limited interruption to CAD operations;
  • Ensure standard company profiles or any other necessary customization, including drawing templates, page setups, menu files, etc. are maintained and are up to date;
  • Manage CAD licensing, costs, and software selection with respect to performance;
  • Facilitate software training and professional development as needed to CAD operators, including oversight of PNOW (Productivity Now training platform);
  • Manage Large Format Plotters procurement, maintenance, supplies, deployments, software, etc.;
  • Manage the implementation, maintenance, and use of thirdparty software that may be required to maximize CAD system efficiency;
  • Support Organization Managers with their endeavors incorporating new software or technologies. This includes but is not limited to research and development, testing, training, and support;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with CAD hardware and software vendors;
  • Develop best practices for remote work and cloud computing;
  • Provide input to annual corporate budget for all CAD related items;
  • Lead or promote aligned initiatives such as 3D scanning, reality capture, drone usage that supports technology enhancement objectives; and
  • Be the corporate leader in CAD strategy, vision, best practices, and innovation by continuously identifying opportunities for improvement in performance and cost reduction.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:


  • 5+ years of direct experience in supporting and administration Autodesk products.
  • Intrinsic knowledge of the AEC Autodesk desktop products (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, Infraworks, etc.);
  • Experience with Autodesk Cloud offerings;
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing;
  • Effective analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Excellent organization and planning skills;
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills;
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities;
  • Ability to effectively interact with coworkers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts; and
  • Ability to travel to branch offices.
