    Responsibilities

    What your day will look like

    Project Management & Design

  • Manage a variety of Municipal Drainage projects from conceptual design through contract administration.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record in accordance with the Municipal Drainage Act.
  • Lead Dillon's technical staff in the delivery of projects for a variety of clients (particularly in drainage related projects) across the company.
  • Provide technical expertise on a variety of projects as part as part of various multidisciplinary teams (including project engineers, planners, technologists, .
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists and technical support staff).
  • Report writing, including detailed design, drawing preparation, cost estimating, preparation of specification and assessment schedules and attendance at site meetings and council meetings.
  • Learning & Development

  • Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.

  • Qualifications

    What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months
  • A minimum of 5 years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry
  • Experience working under the Municipal Drainage Act
  • Proven leadership and business development capabilities
  • Experience

  • Experience in research using historical reports and calculation of material quantities for estimation purposes
  • Knowledge and abilities in surveying and related skills, policies, guidelines and permitting processes related to land drainage
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office
  • In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning
  • Experience at leading stakeholder meetings
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
