***Reporting to the Supervisor, FSW ROW & Terminal Maintenance - APPL, the Field Services ROW Maintenance Technician 3 is accountable for ensuring the integrity and safety of TNPI APPL Pipeline Right of Way (ROW).
This Level 3 job position is the third level (3 of 5) of the Field Services ROW Maintenance Technician Job Family.
The Level - Field Services ROW Maintenance Technician's primary job functions include:
- manages / performs locate requests and witnesses / oversees 3rd-Party ROW Crossing activities as per Pre-approved Crossing Agreements.
- interfaces with 3rd
- Parties such as; adjacent Landowners, Industry Facility owners or Regulatory Inspectors for ROW related matters on TNPI's behalf.
- actively supports Land Department community awareness communication programs designed to increase public awareness and eliminate unintended 3rd
- Party line strikes.
- coordinates One Call requests from Alberta One Call Control Center (incorporated into Utility Safety Partners).
- performs routine Facility maintenance and supervise facility maintenance / repair contractors.
- provides technical expertise / guidance to junior team members & co-workers to facilitate training and transfer technical knowledge applicable to the ROW Maintenance Technician Positions.
OEMS
This job is accountable for ensuring that all aspects of work comply with safe work practices, all applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements and TNPI's Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) and provide feedback on potential improvements.

This job performs their job effectively safely, securely, and in a manner protective of the environment, and complies with TNPI rules and requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General "ROW Maintenance" Technician Related Duties:
- Performs monthly Portable Fire Extinguisher Inspections for designated pumping stations.
- Demonstrates effective Contractor Management Skills, which include: managing onsite activities of maintenance / construction contractors, including: developing applicable scopesofwork and creating purchase requisitions.
- checking / attesting contractors for current orientation and applicable safety trade / skill related certificates.
- ensuring final work acceptance / time ticket endorsement.
- competing required follow-up reports.
Ensures Close-out of applicable Maintenance Routes and Work Orders.
- Supports Construction / Project type work, participate in onsite visitations, gate reviews & prejob planning meetings.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal & communication skills when dealing with external 3rdParties, including but not limited to: Excavators, Utility Companies, Landowners and Regulatory Inspectors.
- Coordinates One Call requests from Alberta One Call Control Center (incorporated into Utility Safety Partners) and manages / performs locate requests and respond to requests for associated ROW information.
