- Coordinate and oversee both outgoing and incoming shipping activities to make sure that everything that is received or shipped out is in acceptable condition
- Responsible for posting weight and dimension for shipping group to book appropriate trucks
- The responsibilities of this position include examining packages for any damage, confirming their contents
- Operate lift truck and overhead crane efficiently to load/unload safely while being mindful of surroundings
- Prepare basic documentation for outgoing shipments as needed
- Handling essential documentation such as bills of lading and invoices securely, provide correct paperwork to freight services
- Direct the movement of shipments from shipping points to storage and/or work areas
- Inspect loading/unloading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications
- Read shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents so as to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedules
- Report to internal team in cases of defects or missing shipments from external service providers
- Assist internal team with shipping vendors in the case of discrepancies in shipments/parts
- Identify opportunities for enhancement and suggest ways of improvement to management
- Ensure the availability of shipping stock and drayage so as to reduce shortages
- Support the simplification and standardization of processes in a bid to enhance effectiveness.
