    Want to be part of an industry leading R&D Project Management team managing complex multidisciplinary new product development projects?

    The Project Manager, Hardware Development is responsible for the execution and sustainment of Research and Development projects. The work will be performed in conjunction with our worldwide project teams. The project teams are cross functional and could consist of hardware, software, reagents, product management, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, service, among others.

    This position is part of the R&D Project Management Office and will be located in Concord, Ontario as a HYBRID role.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Apply project management methodology to develop new technical capabilities, knowledge, design concepts (R&D); productize new scientific and technical capabilities; and manage the evaluation/resolution of field issues (Sustaining).
    • Develop cross-functional plans together with the project team including realistic but aggressive timelines, budget, resources planning. Deliver assigned projects on-time, on-budget, and with the required scope.
    • Act as spokesperson for the project, which includes presenting status to the leadership team, understanding the communication needs and styles of stakeholders, and responding accordingly.
    • Develop and execute a risk management plan to eliminate or reduce the probability and impact of project risks. Should risk events be realized, suggest contingency plans and trade-offs, driving the team to "out-of-box" thinking and creative issue resolution.
    • Ensure that the project meets expectations for manufacturing transfer in terms of design release, procedure readiness, bills of material readiness, etc. Work with the receiving manufacturing sites to ensure that specific requirements are met.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    • Bachelor's degree required. (Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems is preferred)
    • Prefer 5 years as a Project Manager with experience in development of complex products.
    • Experience in managing cross-functional teams working on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, formal presentation) at all levels of the organization.
    • Has or is pursuing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    • HW development, manufacturing, service
    • Agile software methodology
