    Responsibilities
  • Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses.
  • Hands-on work including cleaning, commissioning, operating, and troubleshooting of chemical reactors, pumps, filters, dryers etc.
  • Establish new, and continually improve, existing chemical processes.
  • Work effectively in a team environment that interfaces with other functions.
  • Qualifications
  • Chemical Engineering Technologist diploma (co-op preferred)
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Chemical Engineering Technologist.
  • Experience in mechanical set up, maintenance and modification of chemical reactors, pumps, filters, dryers, and lab equipment.
  • Experience in execution of pilot scale chemical experiments focusing on research and development of chemical processes.
  • Experience in writing standard operating procedures for plant operation.
  • Experience in monitoring chemical reactions and recording observations.
  • Experience in collecting chemical samples and performing some quality analyses to ensure that they meet standardized specifications using analytical techniques.
  • Capable to interpret analytical results to optimize experimental formulations.
  • Assist engineers and scientists in the design and modification of chemical processes.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Focused attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams. A working knowledge of computers with preference given to the Microsoft Office suite, SolidWorks and CAD.
