Duties:

For both streams

Reporting to the National BIM Manager, the Technical Advisor will:

Support the effective implementation of PSPC BIM Adoption Strategy towards achieving PSPC BIM Vision and support PSPC Real Property excellence through Building Information Modelling (BIM) and complementary technologies for integrated lifecycle information management of built assets.

Support the integration of BIM into PSPC Asset lifecycle activities in line with the following standards:

  • ISO Organization and digitization of information about buildings and civil engineering works, including building information modelling (BIM)
  • Information management using building information modelling


  • ISO Asset management

  • Overview, principles and terminology.
Engage with ongoing national and international standards and best practices development.

Provide strategic advice to senior management and/or clients regarding BIM.

Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary teams across Real Property Services Branch (RPS) to

ensure an effective adoption and implementation of BIM and complementary technologies.


Stream 1:
BIM Operations

In addition to the duties above, the Technical Advisor - BIM Operations will:
Provide BIM expert technical advice and guidance on projects


Establish quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) frameworks and procedures in the production, receipt and reuse of BIM models and associated lifecycle data.

Develop BIM standards, best practices and procedures


Stream 2:
BIM Strategic Integration

In collaboration with PSPC Real Property community and/ or industry and/or private sector, the Technical Advisor - BIM Strategic Integration will:
Develop PSPC's BIM & Complementary Technology (CT) Pilot Project Strategy to implement all

relevant BIM capabilities across the asset lifecycle and various project types, complexities,

scales and locations.

Support internal professional development/ training.

Review PSPC key performance indicators (KPIs) and update its BIM benchmarking strategy to

assess progress as required.

A full-time teleworking agreement could be considered from any location in Canada where a PSPC or Coworking GC office is accessible.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree* (See note 1) from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
