Skilled Production Assembler


# of positions: 2 (each for morning and afternoon shifts)


Shift:
_Morning, Mon

  • Fri _
    _ _6 a.m. 1: 30p.m (5days 8 hours), and _Afternoon, Mon
  • Thurs _** 1:30 p.m 12 a.m. (4 days 10 hours with shift premium)

ABOUT THE ROLE:


Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role is responsible for the assembly of various custom parts following printed instructions and drawings, preparing work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering material or subassemblies.

You will be putting pieces together by hand or using variety of hand tools, and manual dexterity is a must in adapting to the physical components of the job.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using various tools.
  • Analyzes drawings and specifications to plan assembly operations.
  • Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts/ assemblies.
  • Wire and connect small basic electrical components.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Participate in weekly department meetings.
  • Participate in department training.
  • Responsible for safety and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement within the Assembly department.
  • Maintaining 5's housekeeping includes sweeping, emptying garbage cans, and cleaning work areas.
  • Responsible for safety and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Technical skills such as machine and tool operations.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Previous Manufacturing Experience
  • Willingness to contribute to a safe work environment by following all Company health and safety rules and policies.
  • Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. repeatedly daily.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing is preferred.
  • Able to follow processes, procedures and/or instructions from the Supervisor or lead hand.
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
  • Good communication skills
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to stay on task with mínimal supervision.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced, creative, fun, and positive environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, selfstarter and energetic.
  • WHMIS Training Preferred
  • Occupational First Aid is an asset.
  • Available for overtime as requested.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
