Program Assistant (HIA)

Purpose

The Hearts in Action Program Assistant will report to the Program Supervisor.

The role is responsible for providing administrative and program support for day-to-day operations, including program planning, documentation, data entry, reporting on KPIs, and ongoing communication internally and externally on behalf of AdaptAbilities.

They are integral to the success of Programs by providing valuable support to families and Community Specialists, ultimately furthering the organizational vision.

Key Functions

  • Provides administrative and program support to Hearts in Action department, including but not limited to activity planning, data entry, documentation management, scheduling, reporting, and internal and external communication with parents/guardians or stakeholders
  • Prepare program materials, including but not limited to inventorying and procuring recreation, arts, and program supplies
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, with flexibility managing competing departmental demands
  • Communicate effectively and with integrity to individuals, families, and coworkers
  • Perform other jobrelated activities as required

Qualifications:


  • Enrollment in a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Human Services, Business Administration and/or related field
  • 23 years' experience in related field, with one year administrative experience
  • Experience working with children, teens, and adults with disabilities is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving abilities
  • Clean class 5 driver's license and vehicle is required
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
  • Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required

Working Conditions:

This is a temporary full-time position from May 6, 2024, to August 30, 2024, with the possibility of extension.

Shifts are Monday to Friday.


Compensation:
$ $22.82/hour
