The vision of the Psoriatic Disease Research Program (PsDRP) is to find the cure for patients with psoriatic disease. The Program, by leading the international research community in better understanding psoriatic disease aetiology and progression and discovering new treatments and prevention measures, will improve the lives of those affected.
The ambition of PsDRP is to continue to be the driving force behind the International Psoriasis and Arthritis Research Team (IPART) and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and PsA (GRAPPA).
Our mission is to innovatively find answers in a cultivating environment that fosters collaboration to address the issues of early diagnosis, disease expression and disease impact.
Our approach has been to carefully phenotype patients with psoriatic disease over time, and to establish a biobank linked to clinical assessments.
To date we have developed an excellent program with valid instruments to assess patients, demonstrated that patients diagnosed early do better, and established a molecular biomarker program to determine disease susceptibility and expression.
We intend to expand our program to include modern imaging methods which will help better define disease phenotypes and outcomes, thus simultaneously strengthening our molecular biomarker program.
This will be achieved by strengthening our team by recruiting an internationally reputed clinician investigator with expertise in psoriatic disease, imaging, outcome measures and cohort studies who shares our vision and is committed to these goals and have already developed methodology in some of these areas.
