Position Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the efficient distribution of finished goods inventory.
This entails direct leadership of customer service, freight carrier negotiation, selection, and management for all inbound/outbound freight and 3rd party warehousing.
Position Responsibilities:
- Order to cash process owner with direct linkage to customer for order management
- Manage all finished goods freight: Carrier sourcing, Rate negotiation, Daytoday management (metrics design/review, corrective action etc.)
- Management of outsourced warehousing / copacking: Contract negotiation, Oversight of copack operations
- Daytoday management (metrics design/review, corrective action etc
- Manage customs brokerage processes through brokerage service suppliers
- First supply chain point of contact for all customs (CBSA) and food safety regulators (CFIA, USDA, FDA)
- Identify and document freight/storage cost savings opportunities through analysis of inventory flow patterns and work with internal/external stakeholders to achieve identified savings
- Manage outsourced freight pay and audit process and manage internal accounting of all freight and storage
- Manage annual budgeting and inyear reforecasts for all freight and storage expenses
- Maintain data integrity in SAP for all freight data
- Management logistics team consisting of Customer Service Manager, (3) Customer Service Representatives, and a Logistics Analyst
- Oversee product takeback or reverse logistics to ensure proper disposition
POSITION OUTCOMES:
- Proficiency in best in class distribution and warehousing practices
- Consistently market competitive or better freight and storage costs
- Efficient flow of goods facilitating achievement of company customer service goals
- Accurate financial forecasting monthly, semiannually, and annually
- Key performance indicators implemented internally and with all service providers
- Continuous improvement of team knowledge and skills
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Minimum 710 years of experience in transportation and order to cash management
- Postsecondary education ideally with a focus on Operations Management / Supply Chain
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of legislation and environmental issues surrounding freight and storage
- Strong working knowledge SAP
- Excellent analytical and deductive skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication and listening skills
- Bilingual written/verbal French/English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced demanding environment
- Highly organized and multi task orientated
- Able to operate effectively in a team setting
- Bias for action, selfmotivated
- Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
