Commissionaires Great Lakes offers an immediate opportunity for a versatile, highly motivated Security Professional.
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, strong working knowledge of computer systems, CCTV experience, a positive attitude and the ability to provide excellent customer service, security and protection for our client's site.
As a front-line representative of our company and client's site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with mínimal supervision, have the ability to m and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely cross school-aged children across municipal roadways
- Use a regulated STOP sign and other safety equipment as directed by the client and site supervisor
- Report for duty when called upon by the site supervisor, to provide relief coverage for regular crossing
- Be prepared to report for relief duty at any of the city's designated crossings
- Perform daily safety check of crossing location when assigned
- Observe and report any incidents or conditions that present a potential safety hazard to the children or guard
- Be available for calls to cover crossings as assigned, based on site needs
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
local police department, as well as a hearing test, and vision test (if they do not possess a driver's license)
Required Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather climates and in high traffic areas
- Must be able to properly wear and use all safety equipment necessary for the duties assigned
- Must be able to stand and walk at a quick and steady pace for up to 1 hour at a time
- Must be able to hold a sign weighing up to 5lbs, with repetitive up and down movement.
Crossing Guards work according to the school schedule, and therefore will not be expected to work during holidays, PD Days, or when school are closed ie:
March Break, Summer Break, Christmas Break, etc. Casual Guards are required to fill in for permanently assigned guards as requested by the site supervisor."
