Reporting to the site General Manager, the Health & Safety Manager is responsible for maintaining and directing safety training programs for the mine site.
Responsibilities will include streamlining processes in accordance with company policies and regulations.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management and oversight of Incident Reporting and Incident Investigation Standards and related procedures and guidelines
- Generate NEBC statistical information and corporate records
- Development and maintenance of the NEBC performance management strategy and H&S metrics framework. Lead interface on scorecard program at the mines. Ensure H&S targets are set, agreed, and tracked
- Work with H&S Team to support the development, review, and implementation of HSE Management system processes, programs and documentation as required
- Management and oversight of the comprehensive H&S management system within Canadian operations. Provide expertise and resources to leadership, operations and projects on H&S management system requirements
- Manage and coordinate the H&S risk management program within NEBC and link to corporate program and processes
- Manage the overall H&S auditing program which includes selfaudits and assessments of the management system and internal corporate H&S compliance audit program
- Provide health and safety technical and hands on support to the mines
- Develop, implement & manage H&S training focused on continuous improvement
- Projects as assigned by the Director, Health & Safety or VP, Health, Safety and Government Affairs
Skills and Abilities:
- Computer skills, including strong competency in Microsoft Office
- Passion and experience in achieving outstanding performance in the areas of Health, Safety and Environmental stewardship
- Visible team leader in the workplace
- Ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas in a clear and concise manner in both formal and informal contexts
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of files, personal information, and other matters, as appropriate

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum ten years experience in mining or consulting in Health & Safety environment, along with the possession of knowledge of Health & Safety management systems and standards
- Health & Safety degree/diploma/certificate is required
- Valid BC Driver's License
- Knowledge and experience to focus on the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a companywide health and safety management system
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Pay:
$120,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
