    Description

    Position Summary

    Join our awesome product development team as an EFE and take charge of designing, documenting, and integrating digital hardware and software into cutting-edge power conversion products. You'll be the go-to person for product validation to ensure top-notch reliability and electrical performance.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Work on Embedded Design (hardware and firmware) to support the Project Design Team in developing Power Supply projects from start to finish
    • Create digital control & power management embedded features based on customer specifications and hardware team requirements
    • Verify & test embedded control & design integrity through bench testing
    • Focus on designing and implementing uCs or digital signal processor firmware for power control functions in Power Supplies
    • Develop circuits, perform tests for design verification
    • Mentor other engineers in product development
    • Review PCB layouts & design documents
    • Research new technologies for future products
    • Stay updated on efficiency optimization techniques
    • Perform schematic entry, calculations, simulations, and bread-boarding
    • Communicate technical information with customers
    • Collaborate with vendors for design support and component sampling
    • Supervise technologists on design projects

    Additional Job Responsibilities

    • Train engineering design groups on critical embedded functions
    • Ensure design adherence to engineering procedures
    • Document designs to ISO9001 standards
    • Ensure design meets cost, performance, and schedule requirements
    • Write reports to document test results
    • Stay current with embedded design innovations
    • Travel to manufacturers to resolve issues

    Experience Requirements

    • BSEE with 5 years or MSEE with 3 years in digital hardware and software design for power conversion
    • Proficiency in MathCAD, PSpice, SImplis, or similar tools
    • Strong knowledge of high frequency switching power supply design principles
    • Expertise in various power conversion topologies and methodologies
    • Experience with uC/digital signal controller/DSP/SOC embedded control design
    • Analog/digital/mixed-signal design experience recommended
    • Experience with on-board serial communications (I2C, SMBus, SPI, UART)
    • Knowledge of off-board/remote communications (USB, Ethernet, CAN bus, RS-485)
    • Familiarity with microcontroller architecture and programming tools
    • Experience in electronic packaging and product development
    • Understanding of high volume manufacturing requirements

    Physical Requirements

    Four days onsite and one flex day per week
