Job Purpose/Mandate


Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.

Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work, and requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • Applies extensive practical knowledge of technical principles and practices for complex installation and maintenance tasks in support of the manufacturing of client products, in a frequently highly timesensitive environment.
  • Repairs and maintains electromechanical PCB manufacturing equipment.
  • Installs and maintains new or more complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Tests and calibrates equipment.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots malfunctioning manufacturing equipment.
  • Contributes to semiroutine analyses and documentation updates, relating to materials management, manufacturing, or test processes. Draws conclusions suggests sources of failure, alternate diagnostic techniques, and/or problem fixes.
  • Participates in preventative maintenance according to detailed specifications and schedules.
  • Assists in the building of prototypes.
  • Assists with equipment moves.

Education and experience:

Generally requires a 2-year technical college diploma. Typically requires a minimum of - 2 years' related experience.
