The Capitol Theatre, located in downtown Moncton, is the region's premiere arts and culture centre. Each year it welcomes more than 100,000 visitors and hosts all manner of events in one of the city's most important historic building. The Capitol is a not for profit, multi-disciplinary presenting venue that also supports dozens of not for profit & community organizations and the communities they serve.

The Capitol Theatre is seeking a skilled and experienced Facility Manager to join our team and oversee the efficient and smooth operation of our facilities.

The Facility Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for employees, visitors, and stakeholders.

As Facility Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, and management of our facilities.

Your main goal will be to ensure that our buildings (811 Main and 33 Church Street) are well-maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and conducive to a productive and positive work environment.

You will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational excellence and ensure that all aspects of the facility are running smoothly.

Working as part of a dynamic growth-oriented team, the successful applicant will report to the Managing Director.


Responsibilities:

1.


Facility Maintenance:

Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance calendar to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, equipment, and infrastructure within the facility.

Ensure that inspections are performed regularly. This includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security, lighting, and other critical systems.

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and take necessary corrective actions.

Budgeting and Cost Control:
Oversee and manage the facility budget, including repairs, and maintenance. Seek cost-effective solutions and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.

Vendor Management:

Collaborate and co-ordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services. Maintain effective working relationships and monitor their performance.


5.


Emergency Preparedness:

Oversee and implement emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring the facility is prepared for various scenarios, such as evacuation, natural disasters, or other crises.


6.


Sustainability & Accessibility Initiatives:

Identify and implement practices to reduce the facility's environmental impact, including energy efficiency, waste management, and green building initiatives.

Work with operations team to ensure that accessibility challenges are addressed.


7.


Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of facility activities, maintenance schedules, and expenditures. Prepare regular reports for management on facility performance and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Facility Manager or similar role, with a track record of successfully managing facilities in a complex and fastpaced environment.
  • Solid knowledge of building systems, construction, and facility operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate
  • Problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities to address facilityrelated challenges and make strategic improvements.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Bilingual considered an asset

Director of Managing Director or Operations Manager

Salary or monthly retainer:
Commensurate with experience
