Description
Under supervision of the Manager, National Technical Service, you will provide installation and configuration of Topcon Canada Inc.

(TCI) complete line of advanced ophthalmic equipment and software platforms to clients located in Western Canada from Alberta to Briitish Columbia.

You will perform service, repair and maintenance, both in-house and at client sites, (ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and hospitals) and provide back-up support to TCI conventional ophthalmic equipment support team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Install and configure TCI's complete line of advanced ophthalmic equipment and software platforms and provide client training.
  • Provide technical support on incoming enquiries related to Advanced Technology products from clients and TCI Territory Managers.
  • Utilize proven troubleshooting processes to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a timely basis to meet client expectations/service levels.
  • Conduct predelivery inspection (PDI) on Advanced technology products before delivery to client.
  • Repair and calibrate Advanced Technology products.
  • Collaborate and provide backup support to collogues including TCI conventional equipment support team.
  • Document and issue tracking in TCI Field Service Management Software.
  • Work crossfunctionally with various departments Including Sales, Customer Service and Sales Support and Inventory Control to manage service call scheduling and parts inventory.
  • On occasion, may travel outside assigned territory to perform emergency service calls as needed.

EEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Postsecondary education in Electromechanics, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 3 to 5 years technical and customer service experience with welldeveloped understanding of computers and software;
  • Must be willing to travel on short notice, demonstrate flexibility with work and travel hours;
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset;
  • Strong organizational, time management skills and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
  • Solid technical and troubleshooting skills;
  • Strong technical aptitude, ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies;
  • Excellent teamwork aptitude and skills;
  • Knowledge of optics principles is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry software/interface standards Dicom, HL7, EMR, PACS is an asset;
  • Knowledge of software configurations, network configurations, serial communications, command line, batch scripting and XML configurations;
  • Proficiency in Windows and Windows Server, MS Office generations, MS SQL Server, IIS, Apache
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
