Plumbing & Gas Inspector:

The City of North Vancouver Planning and Development Department is looking for a temporary full-time Plumbing & Gas Inspector to join their team for approximately 2 years.

In this position, you will inspect and report on plumbing systems, sprinkler systems, gas installations; drain tile and damp-proofing installations; hot water heating systems and gas installations.

You will also review plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes, acts, bylaws, regulations, and standards; approve or reject work inspected and enforce changes or corrections as required.

In addition, you will provide technical assistance to a variety of external and internal contacts and prepare related records, reports and correspondence.

You will be required to provide your own transportation in return for reimbursement according to the Vehicle Policy.

For temporary full-time positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.

Salary:

$ $54.44 per hour + benefits
(Pay Grade 2- January 2024 rates)

Hours of Work:

The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately every 3-week scheduling cycle.
