Responsibility/Main Job Tasks:


  • Directs all aspects of Finance and accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate accounting, and financial planning.
  • Lead finance team, set annual goals and crosstrain team members as required, ensuring departmental goals align with overall corporate goals and strategies.
  • Establish and implement accounting procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with all regulating bodies.
  • Work with IT department to set up, maintain and upgrade workflow in operation system.
  • Prepare and review month end and year end financial reporting packages.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of the general ledger and accounts reconciliations.
  • Oversee full cycle accounting in Sage 300.
  • Review and approve payroll and source deduction remittance.
  • Review ad approve monthly commission pay out.
  • Review and submit government remittance returns.
  • Liaise with external auditors.
  • Contact with Revenue Canada regarding companies' tax matters.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • CPA designation preferred or in the final stage
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance/Business/Economics
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting, reporting, and managerial/leadership experience; Retail industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of proven financial acumen and leadership that demonstrates ability to work with senior leadership to gain insight into how to improve the organization's operational and financial performance
  • Proven project management and organizational skills to execute timesensitive deliverables and effectively manage several projects simultaneously
  • Strong team player with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive change
  • Sage experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, specifically with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, complex formulas and functions) and database skills
  • Strong experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit & collections
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experiences in supervise the operation of the department is preffered
