Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provide amazing hospitality to coworkers and guests as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System.
  • Assist in managing the frontofthehouse restaurant, Barista & Boat Steward staff, training, coaching/discipline, break management, and retention.
  • Provides exceptional hospitality to guests and staff as prescribed in RESPECT Service System
  • Maintains high standards of food and restaurant safety for guests and staff including but not limited to, maintaining a clean workspace and good hand washing practice.
  • Resolves guest issues, conflicts, and complaints in a professional and timely fashion within the scope of authority; refers any unusual situations to the Manager as outlined in department & position assigned checklists.
  • Ensures all opening and closing duties, include stocking, replenishing, wiping, sweeping, and other duties as required to maintain an appealing, hygienic, and safe environment for staff and guests.
  • Provides support and assistance to the frontline positions when applicable to further enhance guest service.
  • Completes administrative tasks including daily reports, paperwork, and invoices by end of day of current shift.
  • Knowledgeable of necessary information from other departments to ensure amazing guest satisfaction (special requests, additional services, special timing, etc.).

Example:
understanding of multiple vessel embarkment and departing schedule in addition to how it impacts dining periods.

  • Conducts preshift meetings and communicates with all land based and customer facing staff within the food & beverage department.
  • Collaborates with direct supervisors to executes programs that improve the level of service and product quality.
  • Leads by example; maintains highest level of professionalism, integrity, and sound work habits including but not limited to; following all department policies & procedures, dedicated work attendance and supporting departmental leadership direction.
  • Helps execute incentive programs and engagement of City Cruises Canada employee programs.
  • Maintains good relationship with other departments (marine, retail, and administration).
  • Attends all scheduled meetings.
  • Operates all restaurant systems (point of sale, inventory/purchasing system, reservations system).
  • Reconciles cash and credit sales with the pointofsale system.
  • Assists in inventory management and logistics & till float reconciliation.
  • Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time.
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Completes any other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Minimum of three (3) years restaurant supervision experience
  • Hospitality or Culinary degree preferred
  • Smart Serve Certificate required
  • Food Handler's Certificate required
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) tailored to different audiences.
  • Must possess a service orientation actively looking for ways to help others.
  • Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays, weekends and evenings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks
  • Will work for extended periods without sitting.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 30 lbs (14 kgs).
  • If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. nonslip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
  • Full G driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
